Resident Evil 3 is a short, heavily scripted and somewhat scrappy follow up to last year’s sublime Resi 2 remake. The series’ trademark slow-burn tension and gentle puzzling are replaced here by all-out action that feels far too safe and linear – for the most part, a series of tightly confined corridors bookended by sloppy boss battles and chase sequences which tend to wrestle control away. Resident Evil 3 (other titles Biohazard 3: Last Escape), is an adventure game (survival horror) released in 1999 by CapCom. The game was released for PCs (Windows) and PlayStation, Dreamcats and GameCube consoles. This is the third part of the Resident Evil series. Key points Higher resolution backgrounds (640 x 480 - while PS1 uses 320 x 240) The only version of RE3 with instantaneous transitions between pre-rendered backgrounds instead of half a second delays. The only version of RE3 that allows the player to skip the door loadings by pressing the map button during them. Unfortunately, there is no mod to make it automatic yet. Suffers from PSX’s shakey polygon/vertices effect (the same effect can be produced on the original RE2 Version when running in software mode) due to low-precision vertex transformation. Press F2 to access the in-game options menu. Press F9 to quit the program.
